Where Did the Old Feature Go?
If you google "how to see your old instagram bios," older articles will tell you to go to Settings → Security → Access Data. This no longer works in 2026.
Meta recently overhauled their app layout and moved this information into a brand new section called "Your Activity." Here is the updated, accurate way to access your "instagram bio history."
Step-by-Step: How to Find Old Instagram Bios
Note: You can only view your own past bios. Instagram does not allow you to see the bio run history of other users due to privacy restrictions.
- Open the Instagram app and tap your Profile Picture in the bottom right corner.
- Tap the Hamburger Menu (≡) in the top right corner of your profile.
- From the menu, tap on "Your activity".
- Scroll down and tap on "Account history".
- Here, you will see a massive list of every change you've ever made. To make it easier, tap "Update type" at the top to filter the results.
- Select "Bio" and tap Apply.
- Success! You can now simply scroll through a timeline of exactly how "how to see previous instagram bios" works, complete with the exact dates you changed them!
Can I Copy My Old Bios?
Yes! When you look at old bios on instagram, the text is fully selectable. Simply press and hold on the old text, drag the cursors to select it, hit Copy, and then paste it back straight into your active Edit Profile screen.
Can Other People See My Past Bios?
No. The "Account History" page is 100% private to you. If you had an embarrassing quote from high school in your bio 5 years ago, nobody else can ever find or read it. It is for your eyes only.
